I have always admired Emory's prestigious reputation. I wanted the chance to learn from distinguished leaders in the nursing profession. With this idea in mind, I decided to apply and visit the campus to get a feel for the environment. From the time that I set foot on the campus, it felt like I was at home. Even though Atlanta is a big city, the Emory community felt small and inviting.
Prior to starting nursing school I was a student at the University of Georgia. I majored in Exercise and Sport Science. During the time, I worked in the Neuromusculoskeletal Health Lab which was designed to evaluate treatment methods to improve bone and muscle strength in children with cerebral palsy. In addition to this, I spent time working at Benchmark Physical Therapy as a PT technician.
Try new restaurants! I love the food scene in Atlanta. There are so many unique restaurants with creative atmospheres. I like to branch out and try different types of cuisine.
Getting to know the Emory School of Nursing Faculty. Each of my professors have been wonderful. All of them have extensive knowledge in their field and they bring a unique perspective to the classroom. Many of them have started their own practices, worked in the military, or spent time doing medical missions overseas. It's an honor to get the chance to know the faculty and hear their experiences in healthcare.
