She/her/hers

Class of 2015

Current:

Hometown: Pasadena, CA

Major: Psychology, Bioethics

Before nursing school, I was...

working as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapist for children with autism as well as a swim instructor for children ages 6 months to 12 years old. I got my undergraduate degree at University of Puget Sound in Psychology with a minor in Bioethics.

I chose Emory because...

it is the number 2 nursing school in the country for graduate nursing programs and I knew that I would get a fantastic education and many opportunities by attending Emory. Furthermore, I feel that this school values its students as a whole person rather than just a GPA number. Emory genuinely wants us to learn relevant skills and gain important experience so that we are adequately prepared for our future careers!

My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is...

try new restaurants and visit the aquarium! I am a big foodie and love the ocean! Atlanta has an amazing aquarium that is world famous so I am grateful to have the opportunity to visit it regularly! Additionally, the food here is outstanding and there is such a variety available!

What has been the highlight of nursing school so far?

My highlight of nursing school has been all the clinical experiences. It has been amazing to be able to work with patients both in assisted and 1-on-1 situations and apply the skills that I learn in classes and lab into real life practice. It's not only fun, but also makes me feel more prepared and confident for my future as a working RN.

I'm passionate about...
