The highlight of nursing school so far has been meeting some of my best friends. I have become very close with a group of girls that I now feel like I could not live without them. We study together, sit in class together, and also hang out outside of school. Even though school is challenging at times, having a group of friends going through the same things makes it a little bit easier.
I love to hang out with friends and go on walks on the belt line. There are great restaurants and fun hang out places on the belt line. I also love the downtown brookhaven area, which I am very close to. They also have many restaurants and that is where I work out at.
Before nursing school, I was a college student at the University of Georgia. I majored in Human Development and Family Science and also worked part time as an after-school teacher in Athens. I was in a sorority at UGA, Zeta Tau Alpha, and was involved in many clubs like the pre-nursing society. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse, but UGA did not have a nursing program, so that is how I ended up at Emory and I feel it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I chose Emory because of the great reputation it has and the clinical experiences I would be exposed to. I also am from Georgia and I wanted to be closer to my family, who lives an hour away from school. Emory provides opportunities to students like no other program and the faculty was another deciding factor in my choice, as I feel like I am truly learning from some of the best.
